Senate to Consider Strong Start Amendment to ESEA

Today, the Senate will begin deliberations on the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) will be offering an amendment that will both authorize and provide the necessary funding for the Strong Start for America’s Children’s Act. Now is the time to contact your Senators and let them know that learning happens from the start – and so should our investments in children!

The Strong Start for America’s Children Act is a robust beginning toward giving young children the best start in school and in life. In addition to a federal-state Pre-K partnership, this birth-to-five bill focuses on important early learning opportunities for babies, including Early Head Start-Child Care partnerships, home visiting, and early intervention for infants and toddlers.

Our partners at Zero To Three have developed an easy, online system to tell your Senators to support the Strong Start Amendment. Click here to get started and share your support with your Senators.
