Easy and Fun St. Patrick’s Day Crafts for Kids

St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to add a little magic and creativity to your day with some fun and easy crafts! Whether you’re celebrating at home or in a classroom, these simple activities are perfect for little hands and will bring plenty of festive cheer. Grab your green supplies and get ready for some St. Patty’s Day fun!



1. Paper Plate Leprechaun

Supplies Needed:

  • Paper plate

  • Orange tissue paper or construction paper

  • Green construction paper

  • Black and yellow paper (for hat details)

  • Glue and scissors

  • Markers or crayons

Instructions:

  1. Cut or tear small pieces of orange tissue paper and glue them around the edge of the paper plate to make the leprechaun’s beard.

  2. Cut out a green hat shape and glue it to the top of the plate.

  3. Add black and yellow paper to decorate the hat.

  4. Draw or glue on eyes, a nose, and a big smile to complete your leprechaun!

2. Rainbow Pasta Necklace

Supplies Needed:

  • Dry pasta (like penne or rigatoni)

  • Food coloring

  • Rubbing alcohol or vinegar

  • Zip-top bags

  • String or yarn

Instructions:

  1. Place dry pasta into separate zip-top bags and add a few drops of food coloring and a splash of rubbing alcohol or vinegar.

  2. Shake the bags until the pasta is evenly coated. Let it dry on a paper towel.

  3. Once dry, thread the pasta onto string to create a rainbow necklace!

3. Pot of Gold Handprint Craft

Supplies Needed:

  • Black construction paper

  • Yellow/gold paper or gold glitter

  • White paper

  • Paint (for handprint rainbow)

Instructions:

  1. Cut a pot shape from black construction paper and glue it onto a white background.

  2. Cut small circles from yellow/gold paper or use gold glitter to fill the pot.

  3. Have your child dip their fingers in rainbow-colored paint and press them onto the paper to create a rainbow leading to the pot of gold.
